DUTCH DREAMS KEEP ME UP AT NIGHT...

Usually a place with lines out the door Dutch Dreams has moved to a larger store. After doing some thrifting around the area thought I'd drop by for a treat! I love this place for it's gitchy decor it has multicolored milk pails in front to sit on and a large cow and large ice cream cones that decorate building. Let's not forget my gnome buddy inside amongst the hanging copper pots.

But to the important part and what sets it apart is the its the many flavours of waffle cones (I got a white chocolate with macadamia nut cone with pistachio/almond ice cream!), and finally it's signature whip cream and fresh fruit meticulously placed on every order.

MY SUPER EASY PANCAKES!

I love breakfast and being that I have a sweet tooth, Pancakes are my quick go-to! My Nieces and Nephews love them with chocolate chips!

Now I know everyone defaults is to use pancake mix but I'm all about knowing what's in my food so this recipe is sooo easy you'll never buy boxed pancakes again!

Recipe:

1 cups all-purpose flour2 Tablespoons of oil or butter or margarinepinch of salt2 tsp. baking powder2 tbsp. sugar1 cups water/milk1 eggs

Optional:
Mix-ins (Chocolate chips, Berries, nuts, etc)

Mix wet ingredients together. Mix dry ingredients together in separate bowl. Combine the two bowls and stir. Get all of the big lumps out and let batter rest for 5 minutes.

Use a non-stick skillet, put a little butter to grease pan, I use an ice cream scoop to get perfectly measured out pancakes. (It's the OCD in me!)

If you want to add mix-in put them on the pancake at this time this is especially important when using chocolate chips as the chocolate chips will melt and make a mess if you try to mix in into batter.

I usually cook about a 1-2 minutes per side.

Also I usually have a wet rag/paper towel handy to wipe down the pan clean in between pancakes to prevent the pan transferring burnt chocolate onto the next pancake and to prevent the pan from smoking.

And of course top with some Canadian maple syrup and Enjoy!
